Description

Ourclient is a leading energy solutions and infrastructure provider who is seekingto recruit a high-calibre leader to manage their businessdevelopment function, including sales, bids and marketing. Their customer basecomprises rail infrastructure, airports, ports, utility companies, majormanufacturers and renewable energy developers amongst others.

Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and owninga growth strategy for the business and will be a key part of the leadershipteam.  

Responsibilities

  • Lead all Sales, Business Development, and Bids. This encompasses a sales team, bids team, and marketing team of c18 staff.
  • Working with the leadership team, the position will contribute to the strategic planning of a company, aligning with overarching Group and Company Services' objectives.
  • Develop and execute a Business Development strategy that supports the delivery of the company’s overall strategy and growth goals for a £150m+ turnover business that is part of a larger group.
  • Drive business growth through the company's strategy and identify opportunities for the company services to deploy capital effectively, aiming for a long-term return on investment in managing assets.
  • Collaborate with the company’s business development team to convert new prospects into sales opportunities.
  • Meet with potential and existing clients to understand their challenges and align the services of the company.
  • Formulate solutions through a consultative sales process with the Services team and clients. Generate and refine value propositions that guarantee high-quality proposals.
  • Review bids, leading peer review of solutions.
  • Manage the departmental budget.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Track record in business development in any infrastructure sector.
  • An accomplished leader with experience managing through change and achieving high performance from staff.
  • Excellent customer service focus.
  • Experience managing a portfolio and team which is distributed across the UK.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Well-established network within relevant markets.
  • Detailed industry knowledge and expertise.
  • The ability to identify risks and trends across the industry.
  • Demonstrated track records in sales, employing a strategic approach to create a winning sales strategy.
  • Proficiency in analysing requirements, assessing competitors' positions, and implementing a program of activities to address shortcomings and enhance coverage in areas of weakness.
