Our services have been retained to recruit a Market Director for a rapidly growing infrastructure consultancy with a strong reputation in the transportation sector. Our client has been experiencing impressive growth and are looking to develop a new Environment & Water market.
The successful candidates will lead growth initiatives within the Environment & Water sectors, oversee the implementation of strategies outlined in the company’s strategic plans, with a focus on achieving predetermined targets, and will play a crucial role in driving the company’s expansion and success in a new dynamic industry.
This position offers individuals the autonomy to develop and execute their own growth plan and have the responsibility to deliver it over the coming years.

Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and update the company’s strategic sales plan for the relevant infrastructure markets.
- Manage relationships with key clients, contractors, and industry partners.
- Identify and assess new opportunities, maintaining an updated sales pipeline.
- Conduct market analysis and trend assessments in relevant segments.
- Create win strategies for key opportunities and establish strategic partnerships.
- Lead bid processes, negotiate agreements, and ensure compliance.
- Form winning bid teams, allocate resources, and manage budgets.
- Direct bid activities, monitor progress, and drive innovation.
- Collaborate with technical and finance teams for optimal solutions and proposals.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance in proposal submissions.
- Participate in client engagement and steering committees during procurement phases.
- Analyse client feedback to enhance the quality of bid submissions.
- Facilitate handover of successful bids to project teams.
- Engage in external communications and industry involvement.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven track record in sales, bid management, or project delivery, ideally within the UK in the relevant sectors.
- Relevant engineering sector experience is preferred; construction and related industry backgrounds can also be considered relevant.
- Proficient in client relationship management, commercial awareness, and contract management.
- Strong experience in transversal leadership, collaborative working relationships, and excellent communication skills.
