Head of Programme Services

Our services have been retained to recruit a Head of Programme Services for a major infrastructure programme comparable in size to the Olympics and Crossrail.

The successful candidate will oversee and provide strategic direction for the services and controls that support the programme.

They will ensure effective management and control of the programme schedule, cost, change, risks, governance, reporting, and resources to successfully deliver the programme outcomes within time, cost, and quality constraints.

Eligibility

  • The successful candidate must hold or be willing to obtain security clearance to Developed Vetting clearance level.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of Programme Controls, including schedule management, risk, management, change control, governance, reporting, and cost management.
  • Provide people leadership across the multi disciplined team to coach, develop, engage, and motivate individuals to create high performing teams.
  • Develop and implement the programme services and controls strategy, framework, and policies, in consultation with the Programme Director and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the programme services and controls team, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities, accountability, and performance management.
  • Ensure the programme services and controls function comply with the organisational standards and best practices, as well as the legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the programme services, controls assurance, and audit activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in a related discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Evidence of working on large scale infrastructure programmes.
  • Evidence of successfully leading cross-functional teams in a complex project environment.
  • Experience providing programme services and control functions for large-scale and complex infrastructure programmes and projects.
