The summer holidays have come to an end, we have to pay full price to eat out again, and the early August heatwave looks well and truly over.
Let’s take a look at the major movers and shakers in transport and infrastructure from August…
Chief Executive, Jim O’Sullivan, is to stand down early next year, O’Sullivan was appointed as CEO in 2015. A successor has yet to be announced.
Have announced that Mike Cooper, the current CEO of Eurostar, will take over as the new Arriva Group CEO, effective from early October 2020. He succeeds Manfred Rudhart is stepping down following almost five years in the role.
Xavier Champaud has joined as their new Managing Director. He makes an internal move from Alstom where he has been Regional Centre & Site Managing Director based in Charleroi.
Severn Trent Water
Uma Shanker has joined as Programme Director – Capital Delivery and Design. Shanker leaves HS2 where he has been a Project Director since 2015.
The former Head of Capita’s Infrastructure consulting business, Graham Sant, has been appointed as Executive Director of the engineering consultancy which is part of the rolling stock and rail systems CAF Group.
Have appointed former BAM Nuttall Chief Executive, Steve Fox, as a Non-Executive Director. Fox stepped down from his position at BAM Nutall at the end of May.
They have also announced the promotion of James Mulchinock to Board Director of Barhale Construction Services Ltd. Mulchinock has most recently been General Manager of the Safety and Construction Products and Services Group.
Announced the appointment of three Directors as part of its new corporate structure.
Akshay Kaul becomes Director of Networks while Interim Executive Director of Systems and Networks Cathryn Scott becomes Director of Enforcement and Emerging Issues.
Philippa Pickford also becomes Director of Retail as part of the reorganisation.
Have announced the appointment of Paul Maguire as Commercial Director. He joins from Multiplex where he was European Commercial Finance Director.
Royal BAM Group
John Wilkinson has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer for Civil Engineering. Wilkinson was formerly Kier’s Executive Director of Services and has most recently been based in Canada, at SNC-Lavalin since, where he was President of Infrastructure.
Conor Linnell has joined AECOM as Regional Director Rail Central North & West. He leaves Atkins where he has been since 2000, most recently as Client Director, Signalling & Telecoms.
Huw Edwards has been appointed as Infrastructure Director. He leaves East West Rail Company where he was seconded in from Network Rail as Programme Director.
Three Directors at specialist rail and transportation contractor BCM Construction have completed a management buyout of the £40M business. Founder Hugh McGarry, and Finance Director Terry Sullivan have sold their stakes to the remaining management team.
The MBO was led by Managing Director Shane O’Halloran, Commercial Director Stuart Jackson and Operations Director Daniel Wiscombe.
Have appointed Raj Sinha to be its new Group Managing Director. Sinha was formerly the Managing Director of SSE Enterprise Rail.
Elisabeth Tasker, Managing Director of the Manchester bus operation, is to retire after 20 years with the company. Tasker will continue to lead the Manchester business while the recruitment of her successor is underway.
Chief Executive Officer Dean Finch will leave at the end of this month. Group Chief financial officer Chris Davies will act as Interim Group CEO.
Jane Reakes-Davies has been appointed Managing Director. She has worked for First Group since 2013, most recently as Head of Human Resources before filling the First Cymru Managing Director role on an interim basis.
