Company Overview

A market leader in delivering cutting-edge Plant & Transport solutions across the UK and Ireland, this business is on an ambitious growth trajectory, currently with plans to reach a turnover of £250m by 2027. This is one of the largest Contractor-owned plants in the country; they play a key role in major infrastructure projects and have a strong reputation for operational excellence and innovation. International Plant manufacturers would see this company as the client of choice in the UK.

This is a newly created position, designed to meet the needs of a growing business and capitalise on opportunities within key markets and projects.

 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Leader to oversee multiple critical functions, including data operations, a key support depot and specialist plant operations. There will be a particular focus on kit to be used in Tunnelling and Energy in the coming years.

This high-impact role requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can ensure the safe, timely, and profitable delivery of operations, while driving external business opportunities with major contractors.

 

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven track record in managing Plant & Transport businesses at scale  (This could be a contractor-owned plant business, a plant-hire company, a contractor outsourcing plant, or a major manufacturer of plant).
  • Substantial experience in client, supply chain, and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong expertise in business change, operational performance reviews, and improvement initiatives.
  • Commercial and contractual acumen with a focus on driving operational profitability.
  • A visible commitment to fostering a safety-first culture with expertise in safety management and leadership.
