Description
Our client is a leading engineering organisation with a dedicated design & build rail systems division that manages subcontractors to deliver projects across the UK. Working with Network Rail and operating within major frameworks, this role will lead the safe and efficient delivery of construction works, playing a key role in the modernisation of the rail network through effective supply chain coordination.
Responsibilities
- Manage subcontractor performance across major programmes, ensuring alignment with delivery objectives.
- Drive the transition to a construction management model, embedding behavioural change and improving supply chain engagement.
- Monitor and improve site execution, construction delivery, and operational consistency across regional projects.
- Collaborate with Programme Directors and internal leadership to shape strategy and performance across the business unit.
- Champion safety, quality, and compliance, fostering a proactive culture of hazard identification and continuous improvement.
- Support commercial governance and contribute to bid development, risk management, and project financial performance.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and motivational skills, with the ability to unite teams around common objectives and foster collaboration.
- Experience and knowledge of best practice construction management of sub-contractors.
- Collaborative approach, good leadership and influencing skills.
- Senior management experience in a large organisation with strong governance is preferred.
- Ability and behaviours to work within a professional services organisation.
