Bouygues UK

Fabienne Viala, Chair and CEO, has announced she is stepping down from her position. Viala will be succeeded by Philippe Bernard, who has 30 years with the company.

 

HS2 Ltd

Mark Wild has started in December with HS2 as Chief Executive Officer. Wild joins from SGN, where he was also CEO. He brings a record in the successful delivery of complex railway systems, most notably as the CEO of Crossrail.

Alan Morris also joins as Civils Delivery Director. Morris Joins from NEOM, where he was Construction Director.

Current Chair, Sir Jon Thompson, has announced that he will be stepping down from his position in the spring after 4 years on the Board.

 

AtkinsRéalis

Have announced two new appointments in their UK&I Transportation team.

Emma Porter joins as Practice Director- Transport Advisory and Consulting. Porter will lead a team of experienced transportation consultants providing specialised advice to a range of clients including Network Rail, rolling stock companies, National Highways, and local authorities. She joins from Story Contracting Limited, where she was Managing Director.

Alejandro Moreno Moya joins as Market Director- Rail & Transit. Moreno Moya joins from Colas Rail UK, where he has held numerous positions including a divisional Managing Director and Innovation/Digital Transformation lead, as well as Alliance Director for the £1 billion Midland Metro Alliance.

 

VolkerRail

Steve Cocliff, Managing Director, has announced that he has retired as of the end of December 2024. Stuart Birch will succeed him in the role, stepping up from his major projects role.

 

Skanska

Have announced several changes to its leadership team.

Terry Muckian has been appointed as Executive Vice President for the firm’s Building business unit. Muckian moves internally, from his role as Managing Director, Cementation.

Andrew English is the new Executive Vice President for Infrastructure. English rejoined the business in March as MD for Infrastructure.

Jo Mortensen will join as Executive Vice President, responsible for Technology, Sustainability, and Innovation. Mortensen moves internally from Skanska Norway, where he currently performs a similar role. 

Adam McDonald, currently Executive Vice President, will have his role expanded to Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. McDonald will lead on cementation, piling and foundations, and facilities management operations.

Chris Ottley has also been appointed as Project Director, Lower Thames Crossing (Kent Roads). Ottley joins from Balfour Beatty plc, where he was Director, Regional Development Partnerships in the Highways division.

Executive Vice Presidents Thomas Faulkner and Swati Paul will be leaving Skanska.

 

Restoration and Renewal Programme for the Palace of Westminster

Have appointed Russ MacMillan as the Chief Executive of the body that oversees the Palace of Westminster’s restoration programme. MacMillan will be responsible for the delivery authority, leading the design and delivery of the programme. MacMillan joins from the Department of Transport, where he is Director of Rail Infrastructure, North and West.

 

Amey Consulting

Graham Goswell joins as Delivery Director Rail. He leaves AtkinsRéalis, where he was Practice Director- Rail Operations & Asset Management.

 

WSP

Have appointed Sam McWilliam, Managing Director of Transport in Australia, and WSP Australia’s newest Board member. McWilliam joins four other women on the WSP Australia Board. 

They have also announced the appointment of Charlie Jewkes as Managing Director, Water, Power & Energy. Jewkes moves internally from his position as Managing Director of Transport, Advisory & Water.

 

Mott MacDonald

Richard Risdon has been appointed to their Executive Board. Risdon is currently Managing Director of the UK and Europe Region.

 

Wates

Have announced the appointment of Phillippa Prongué as Executive Managing Director of its Residential business. Prongué joins from Bouygues UK, where she was Managing Director, and succeeds Helen Bunch who is retiring after 19 years at Wates.

Wates Residential have also announced that Paul Nicholls will return to the company as Regional Managing Director, London. Nicholls returns after four years of pursuing his own business.

 

Mace

Have brought in John Holland-Kaye, the former Chief Executive of Heathrow Airport as a Non-Executive Director. He will be joined by Sylvia Metayer, former Chief Growth Officer at French food services and FM firm Sodexo, who also starts on 1 January.

 

Kensa Group

Camilla Barrow has been appointed as Chief Operations Officer. Barrow was previously a General Manager in Laing O’Rourke’s Australian business and is also ex-Bechtel.

 

Homes England

Have appointed Eamonn Boylan as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Boylan joins from Stockport Council, where he was also Chief Executive Officer.

 

Gleeds

Brian McArdle has been appointed as UK Managing Director. He moves internally from his position as Regional Managing Director of the North. McArdle will take over from Anthony Cork, who is leaving after 27 years at Gleeds.

 

McLaren Construction

Have appointed Andrew Beaumont as Managing Director North East, leading a new Yorkshire & North East division in Leeds. Beaumont joins from ISG, where he was Regional Director.

 

Porterbrook

Have announced the appointment of David Lister as Director for Scotland. Lister joins from ScotRail, where he was Safety, Engineering and Sustainability Director.

 

ERM

Ian Coombes-McGookin has been appointed as Partner - Infrastructure within the M&A team. Coombes-McGookin joins from Jacobs, where he was Senior Director & Client Delivery Director- Investors, Europe.

 

Atelier Ten

Have announced that Founder and Executive Chairman, Patrick Bellew, is stepping down from the business after 34 years. Duncan Campbell, Director for London, will become Executive Director, taking on the responsibilities of leading Atelier Ten’s UK offices.

 

Ramboll

Have announced that Neil Sansbury has been appointed as Managing Director on a permanent basis. This follows his 5-month interim period in the role, in place of Philipa Spence, who was promoted to a Group role.

They have also announced the appointment of Ann Gordon as Country Market Director- Transport UK & Ireland. Gordon has been with Ramboll for 20 years most recently as masterplanning Market Lead.

 

Binnies

Mat Fairfax has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer. Fairfax moves internally from his position as Director of Consultancy Services.

 

First Rail Consultancy

Managing Director, Rebecca Holding, has announced that she is leaving the company to join Etihad Rail in the Middle East. Holding’s replacement has yet to be announced.

 

TransPennine Route Upgrade

Have appointed Wesley Cadby as Director of Risk Management. Cadby joins from Sellafield Ltd, where he was Head of Risk Management.  

 

M Group Services

Have announced that Archie Norman has joined as its new Non-Executive Chairman. Norman previously served as Chief Executive and Chairman of ASDA and Chairman of Marks & Spencer.

He is also a former Director with Railtrack as well as Shadow Secretary of State for the Environment and Deputy Chair of the Conservative Party.

 

The National Infrastructure Commission

Have announced that James Heath, Chief Executive is stepping down after nearly 5 years in his position. Heath will join investment advisory company, Flint Global, as a consultant.

 

Cadent Gas Limited

Director of Capital Delivery, Neil Bethell, has announced that he has stepped down from his position to pursue freelance operational and construction pursuits. His replacement has yet to be announced.

 

Costain

Have announced the appointment of Eva Soto Pérez as Engineering Services General Manager. Soto Pérez joins from Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, where she was Engineering Director Infrastructure & Managing Director Engineering Solutions.
