A leading UK rail franchise have retained our services to recruit an Operations Director with a focus on making continuous improvements across both performance and customer experience, developing effective and collaborative relationships with all trade unions.
As Operations Director you will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for a large workforce across all activities related to train service delivery, customer service on board trains and operational safety.
To be successful in this role, you will take an active interest in and contribute to other Directorates across the business and work with key external stakeholders like Network Rail to establish a collaborative culture.
Key Skills & Experience
- Educated to degree or equivalent standard.
- Expertise in operational management in a safety critical industry
- Experience of health and safety management and the compliance management process
- Experience of commercial negotiation and managing a cost centre
- In-depth understanding of the railway industry.
- The ability to devise the vision and strategy for a business area.
- Creates and leads an open and constructive culture.
