Energy Director – Scotland

A major contractor has retained our services to recruit an Energy Director. You will play a critical role in the company as the Energy Director, to manage the company’s energy transmission activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage P&L of activities in Scotland.
  • Formulate and communicate the operations strategy, providing leadership to the team to ensure this is translated and implemented at all levels to ensure delivery of results in key areas e.g. Health and Safety, quality, timeliness, financial and customer satisfaction.
  • Actively source and win new work by appropriate bid strategies in conjunction with
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle for all direct reports including talent and succession management to ensure optimum team performance.
  • Strengthen customer relationships (n accordance with the agreed sector strategy

Key Skills & Experience

  • Technical and practical knowledge of the electricity transmissions sector is desirable but a solid track record of delivering a portfolio of Infrastructure projects to time, quality and budget is essential.
  • Experience within with a regulated framework contracting environment, i.e. rail, water, gas, highways, telecoms. Energy sector experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Significant experience gained in either a contractor or a client organisation, with a good track record of delivery and HSQE credentials. Contracting experience is desirable.
  • Capability to manage and grow a P&L of £100m+ with strong leadership, business development and organisational development skills.
  • A civil engineering technical background is highly desirable although is not essential.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook.
  • Good management skills, with the ability to motivate employees to achieve high standards of compliance.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills; able to manage business priorities.
  • Ability to monitor performance and intervene appropriately to ensure targets are achieved and exceeded.
