A leading member organisation working across the built environment have retained our services to recruit a new Chief Executive Officer.

This role is high-profile, requiring skills in government advocacy, entrepreneurial thinking, diplomacy, and tact. To succeed, you should naturally demonstrate leadership, gravitas, and a business-oriented approach.

You will be accountable for implementing the organisations strategy, influencing government and polices and delivering tangible outcomes for their members. The successful candidate will have significant experience working with policy makers and will be able to effectively champion the interests of the industry

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organisation and its employees, embedding a united team culture.
  • Deliver the company strategy that has been set by the Board, helping to develop future strategies and build on the existing brand.
  • Create bespoke high value services for its members, recognising the nuances between types of member organisations.
  • Work closely with the advisory Board and build strong relationships with all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience of UK Government advocacy
  • Experience leading a team or business demonstrating strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Background in policy formation, with own network of public relations contacts.
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a leadership role of a member organisation is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge and experience of the built environment is not essential but would be advantageous.
